THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT...share it prevent errors...and ADULTERATION..

The Consumer Protection Act 1986 has been enacted to promote and protect rights of the consumer.The act applies to all goods and services whether in private,public,or cooperative sector


 WHO CAN FILE THE COMPLAINT ?


A consumer or any voluntary consumer organisation (registered),or the government.

WHAT CONSTITUTES A COMPLAINT ?


A complaint in writing should state whether one has sufferd a loss due to unfair trade practice,the goods are brought defective,the services mentioned suffer from deficiencies,the trader has charged a price in excess of the price displayed on the goods

WHERE TO FILE A COMPLAINT ?
If the cost of the goods or services and the compensation asked for is less than rupees one lackh,then in District forum,more than one lakh but less than 10 lakhs then the State commission,for more than 10 lakhs at the National commission,New Delhi

HOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT ?

The complaint can be maid in person or by any authorised agent or by post.There is no fee to be paid.Give the facts relating to the complaints when and were it is arose supported if possible by any document,along with signature,name and address

RELIEF AVAILABLE TO CONSUMER

The redressal forum may give orders for removal of defects from goods,replacement of goods,refund of the price etc

TIME LIMIT FOR DECIDING THE CASE.

The national commission,state commission,or district forum are required to decide complaints as far as possible with in the period of 3 months from the date of notice received by the opposite party where complaint does not require testing of the commodities

1.be an alert consumer
2.by spending a few seconds on inspecting weights and measures before a purchase you may save in terms of money and quality
3.consumer protection act ensures following rights of the consumer
-right to safety
-right to be informed
-right to choose
-right to be heard
-right to seek redressel
-right to consumer education
4.CONSUMER SHOULD BE QUALITY CONSCIOUS.this is the only way to eradicate the problem of ADULTERATION
