TIGER.....(Panthera tigris)... a stalk-and-ambush hunter...

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest cat species,

Most recognizable for its pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside.
It is an good predator.
The tiger usually hunts by night and preys on a variety of animals, but it prefers fairly large prey such as deer and wild pigs.

As solitary animals, tigers establish and maintain their own territories, the size and nature of which vary with the number and distribution of prey, the presence of other tigers in the area, the nature of the terrain, the availability of water

The tiger is a stalk-and-ambush hunter, and the distinctive stripes are good camouflage in the long grass or wooded forests of their diverse habitat.
Dark stripes on a pale background break up the tiger’s outline as it lies in wait for prey to come near.

Morays Eel....

Moray eels body is generally patterned. In some species (inside of the mouth is also patterned.)
Their jaws are wide, framing a protruding snout.
Most possess large teeth used to tear flesh or grasp prey items.
They primarily feed on crustaceans and other hard-shelled animals

The dorsal fin extends from behind the head along the back and joins seamlessly with the caudal and anal fins.
Most species lack pectoral and pelvic fins, so look like serpentine appearance. Their eyes are rather small
Morays rely mostly on their highly developed sense of smell, lying in wait to ambush prey.

Morays secrete a protective mucus over their smooth, scaleless skin, which in some species contains a toxin.

They have much thicker skin and high densities of goblet cells in the epidermis that allows mucus to be produced at a higher rate than in other eel species.

This allows sand granules to adhere to the sides of their burrows in sand-dwelling morays, thus making the walls of the burrow more permanent due to the glycosylation of mucins in mucus.

Their small, circular gills, located on the flanks far posterior to the mouth, require the moray to maintain a gap to facilitate respiration.

The Indian cormorant...

The Indian cormorant / Indian shag (Phalacrocorax fuscicollis) is a member of the cormorant family.

Cormorants and shags are medium-to-large birds, with body weight ( 0.35–5 kilogram) and wing span (45–100 centimetres)

The majority of species have dark feathers.
The bill is long, thin and hooked.
Their feet have webbing

All species are fish-eaters, catching the prey by diving from the surface. They are excellent divers, and under water they propel themselves with their feet with help from their wings

They are seen in estuaries and mangroves but not on the open coast. They breed very locally in mixed species breeding colonies

Cormorants nest in colonies around the shore, on trees, islets or cliffs.
They are coastal rather than oceanic birds,

It is a gregarious species that can be easily distinguished from the similar sized little cormorant by its blue eye, small head with a sloping forehead and a long narrow bill ending in a hooked tip.

The Cormorant may be found in small village ponds, garden ponds as well as large freshwater bodies such as rivers and lakes and even estuaries.

The gestation period in otters is about 60 to 86 days.
shelter is built under tree roots, rocky cairn, It is lined with moss and grass.
To rest, otters seek refuge in underground holes, rock crevices, beaver lodges, cavities in rootsystems, or simply dense vegetation along the shoreline.

Its usual source of food is fish ,crayfish, crabs, mussels, and frogs.
They belong to the weasel family (Mustelidae) and are noted for their playful behaviour

The otter has a slender body with short legs, a strong neck, and a long flattened tail that helps propel the animal gracefully through water.

Most river otters are opportunistic, feeding on whatever is most easily obtained.

Diet often varies seasonally or locally, depending on which prey is available.

River otters hunt visually while chasing fish, but they use their manual dexterity to dislodge crabs and crayfish from under rocks.

Sensory hairs on the snout called vibrissae also assist by sensing water turbulence

They typically follow the shortest route possible and often establish much-used trails.

They are characterised by a long beak and a large throat pouch used for catching prey and draining water from the scooped-up contents before swallowing.

They have predominantly pale plumage, the exceptions being the brown

The bills, pouches, and bare facial skin of all species become brightly coloured before the breeding season.

Pelicans eat fish, which they catch by using the extensible throat pouch as a dip-net.
The pouch is not used to store the fish, which are swallowed immediately.

The eight living pelican species have a patchy global distribution, ranging latitudinally from the tropics to the temperate zone.

Pelicans inhabit lakes, rivers, and seacoasts in many parts of the world.

Some species reaching a length of 180 cm, having a wingspan of 3 metres, and weighing up to 13 kg, they are among the largest of living birds.
